Sherrie called Jennie this morning around 8:30 a.m. to see how she was doing and to let her know that she was headed down to California by car this morning after Sacrament Meeting. When I spoke with Jennie this afternoon she said that she had a couple of contractions last night but didn't think too seriously about them. Later in the morning, around 9 or so, the contractions were pretty regular so they started timing them and realized that something was up. But things didn't seem too urgent so she sent Eric and the kids out of the house for awhile so she could concentrate. Then around 11 she felt that she had better get everyone home (along with the midwife) which was a good thing since shortly thereafter she started into one long contraction and here came the little girl at 11:24 a.m.

Jennie was in the family room on the couch and, when the time was imminent, decided that she didn't feel like going back to the bedroom, or anywhere else for that matter, so she just rolled off the couch onto her hands and knees had the baby right there on the floor in front of the TV set! Fortunately by then the midwife was there as was Eric.

Baby Girl Colvin weighed in at 9 pounds and was 21 inches long. She has been spending most of her time sleeping and eating and making lots of noises (none, crying, however.)

Will took me to the airport so I could catch the 7:43 p.m. flight to Burbank arriving around 9:00 p.m.

Still no name yet.
