Arrived in Houston about 5:30 a.m. and didn't leave for 12 hours. We rented a van and drove out to the Houston Temple. The mission president, President Steward from Tremonton (he is a nephew to Rulon Darrington's wife - Darrington's are friends of Mary Alice and live in Toquerville) was there with some missionaries that had just arrived from Venezuela (all the American missionaries were moved out of Venezuela because of the current politics there.)

We had enough time to do a whole bunch of sessions but weren't dressed appropriately so we opted to visit with the temple president, President Sutton, at his home which is fairly close to the temple. President and Sister Sutton are the parents of Karen Adams. Karen and Richard (he used to work for Steve at the Sugarloaf) live in our ward.

Played canasta for a couple hours and eventually left around 6:00 p.m. for Quito.

Couple of greenie missionaries on the plane going to the Quito mission. Elder Colby Lebaron, 785 N. Canyon View Dr., Roosevelt, Utah 84066, and Elder Allen, P.O. Box 120085, Antimony, Utah, 84712. Took a couple of pictures of them and said we would write to their moms and let them know that they arrived ok.
