The first grade classes at "Glen Taylor Elementary School" presented a play on Friday morning to the rest of the school and a few parents. Romy did very well and seems to really enjoy her class.
Sherrie's Red Mountain Choir concert was at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. I stopped next door at the Old Mormon Fort for a short visit...Chuck Ankenman, a long time friend, and a fellow missionary at the Humanitarian Service Center, was cooking dutch oven cobbler for an Abraham Lincoln celebration being held at the park by the fort (the men in the picture include Martin Bunker who used to be bishop of the ward that Sherrie attended as a teenager and who remembers George and Mary Alice very well, Jeff Ankenman, and his dad Chuck Ankenman.) Then I went next door to Cashman Center for the concert. They had 3 professionals from the strip who were the stars...Brent Barrett, Tina Walsh, and Reva Rice...Brent and Tina are starring in Phantom and Reva Rice has been starring in Spamalot.
Josh and his family stayed overnight on Friday because their floors were being redone. Sophia came into our bedroom Saturday morning at 4:15 a.m. and said, "I want to watch cartoons." So we watched cartoons until about 6:30 when she announced that she was hungry and wanted to eat. Sherrie had already left for play rehearsal so I convinced Sophia to wait until 7:00. We didn't make it. Sherrie called about 6:45 and I had to go into the other room to answer the phone. So I just stayed up, got dressed, and told Sophia that we would go to McDonald's. Zully came out as we were leaving and said that Romy would like to go so she woke her up and the three of us had breakfast at McDonald's.
Later that afternoon, Romy was climbing in the tree in the front yard and slipped as she was climbing down and scratched her back pretty good.
Sherrie and I drove to Toquerville/Cedar City after stake conference on Sunday. Sherrie stayed in Toquer and I drove on up to visit with Grandma Thomas. I arrived just in time for a barbecue at Jason's to celebrate his 33rd birthday.
Grandma Thomas has been having some problems with her computer so I backed it all up on my external hard drive. Monday morning we went to Staples and bought an external for her so she can backup more frequently.
Monday afternoon we returned to Las Vegas.
